Costantly shifting a gas V8 had to shift my 96 F350 diesel more than my 86 460 which I can drive through town at idle in 4th gear empty. If its flat to very slite incline trailer loaded with a 4000lbs car + 1900 lbs trailer it will easly take off in 2nd.

I'm curious what everyone has seen. I'm looking on forums and it looks like if the EcoBoost wants to die it pops pretty early on. Not sure if that's a selection bias or the actual case.

I thought about an Eco-Bomb after they first came out but I think I will stick to good old' V-8 power in my trucks. 5.0L or 6.2L in my next ride in a few years.

May not be an option. I keep hearing rumors that Ford is not going to offer a V-8 any longer in the F150's and Mustangs beginning in 2017. Not sure how much there is to it but it's been going around. http://www.carscoops.com/2015/01/for...8-engines.html
