We have a Chevy Dealership in the family so I have a little bit of an understanding of trade ins. Basically they are going to look at what similar vehicles are going for at the auto auctions when they evaluate the trade in value. They're going to look at mileage, condition, etc. and whether the vehicle will sell in the particular market. It sucks but it's reality. I have a '08 Silverado 2500, Duramax that I will be driving into the ground because of the outrageous cost of new trucks.

Exactly......drive it til the wheels fall off and then get new wheels. The LML duramax is by far the best engine they have made yet!
I bought my 2011 Denali Dually in December of 2012 from the owner of the GMC dealership in Gurnee. It was his personal truck with 33k, Black Maxx programmer, 5th wheel turnover ball, DPF delete, and aftermarket exhaust, cold air intake. I stole it off ebay for 45k when diesel was expensive.
Now it has 163k, been run on HOT setting for nearly all of that mileage, gets over 20mpg at 75-80 empty, gets 18 in town, 11-13 towing 14K lbs and will tow anything anywhere. I have only had to change the TCM, and just last week a glow plug. Not bad for 130k of constant towing and being to all 4 corners of the country multiple times. You can't beat the comfort of GMC/Chevy trucks, and they hold their value well. I have had several fords 99-06(older ones are ok but ride rough) 1 dodge dually 04(great truck, cab just to small and weak tranny) This is the first duramax and I'll never go back. Plan on driving this one for a long time!
Keep your truck and enjoy it!!!

I too was surprised by the pads, 95K and original. I like the truck, and will soon have no payment. I'm going to run it another year and see what happens from GM next.
Got the Ford back, runs good, it was a PCM that went bad. Easy fix for the mechanic, not too pricey. Have to do some body work next and the 5 position dial/tuner doesn't seem to run right on the hotter settings. It's like it's not getting enough fuel...? then throws a service engine light when you step on it, but will turn off after a couple minutes. I can tell it's making alot of boost, but doesn't seem to go anywhere.

GMC threw another "Service 4 Wheel Drive" code. +96K mi, getting nervous when I have to start paying for these repairs. Too much stuff on these new trucks.
I'll see what they say on Wed, this is the 3rd time dealing with sensors, etc. besides the other warranty claims it has had.....
