I've been avoiding tires because I plan to raise the fenders in order to go to a 15" wheel and run a better tire. Anyone know how much better tire options get when going to a 15" wheel? I'm told I won't find a 16" in 5 X 4.5 bolt pattern. It's on 14's now...

When I go, this thing will make mostly 400-500 mile round trips behind a duramax that doesn't know it's there. I'd like to set it up where I can run it and not worry about it.

Thanks for the help all!
Your tire options DRASTICALLY increase when you go to 15.
You can get E-rated 15" Maxxis trailer tires, and I HIGHLY recommend them.

Some here on the board used fancy engineering and physics to conclude that the rear axle on springs actually gets more downward force in a stopping situation (Years ago we had quite a discussion on boiling water freezing faster than room temp water, so take the above with a grain of salt.)

The convincing reason that got me to move my brakes to the rear axle when installing discs was trailing in the rain. The front wheel helps remove the rain from the rear wheel's path, therefore providing more braking ability in the rain. It's the only convincing reason I've ever found for this theory.
