I'm not a good judge of style I guess.... I hated the 1994 Dodge RAM new look when it was introduced... a buddy of mine who drove a KW for a living loved it! Said it reminded him of his tractor.... every other truck Mfg copied to some degree that style & it's still prevalent today on most PU Trucks.... so give it time.... maybe it will grow on you?

1. The new Silverado HD better have a great personality, because it’s ugly as sin.
2. GM cares nothing about people. They haven’t cared since the Flint sitdown strike. They still didn’t care when they exercised eminent domain and destroyed Pole Town (hey, they left Beth Olem cemetery in the parking lot, so that’s caring, right?). They still didn’t care when they shut down Chevy in the Hole, Central Foundry. etc. They are, for better or worse, a corporation responsible only to the shareholders and the almighty dollar.
3. Free Trade agreements are a major boon for drug smugglers. Traps in cars and trailers are way easier than using expensive offshore boats and planes.
4. My next new vehicle will still have a 1,4, or 5 for the first digit of the VIN (US assembly), or maybe a 2 (Canada), but it won’t be from GM anymore. My last GM employee family member has now passed, GM will get no further allegiance here.

They’re revamping Mack Ave engine plant to build Grand Cherokees. At least FCA is keeping plants inside Motor City limits. Guess I’ll have to start looking at Hellcats and Rams instead of Corvettes and Silverados.

That’s news to me then... I heard they were bolstering production of the Grands in the old Mack Ave Plant (they already build Grands on Jefferson), but didn’t hear they were sending anything else to Detroit. I thought the KL Cherokees were built in Illinois. Still sux that you guys are losing GM Lordstown.... Lots of great B bodies and F bodies rolled out of that shop when it was new.

Your assessment is dead on. This latest action by GM is just an affirmation that employees, taxpayers and even President Trump matter not as long as they can post larger profits. Ford moving production back to the US last year was an admirable and supportive action, and bolstered their credibility with the country. The approach taken by FCA to revamp existing plants to produce new models is commendable, and exactly what GM should be undertaking. They could have posted a profit of 5 Bil instead of 7.5 Bil, and used the 2.5 Bil to keep their employees on, while revamping the existing plants. As for me, I will vote with my wallet. My C7 is the last GM product I will buy for a long time.
