Thanks Articfriends. You bring up another issue which has always bothered me, which is load rating on the hitch alone. I have surge brakes on the Myco, which work great, but can’t be use with the weight distribution setup. My truck recommends the weight distribution for the load rating I’m pulling. I believe the new HDs can all handle 12,000 lbs on the hitch alone, or am I mistaken?

I lowered the air from 55 to 44 on my Z71 with 33” BFGs and it’s a completely different ride for the better.

You can drop 10ply tires down pretty low when unloaded.

Everyone worries about a big enough truck to pull their trailer but then skimp on the trailer. First off 99% of trailers are under built garbage. They can get away with this because most people only tow a few times a year. Bearings brakes etc. Rarely last 20k miles! What would we think if our vehicles blew hub bearings every 20k!!! Just look at the tiny leaf springs and shackles on a 7k axle compared to even a rear axle on a 1/2ton pickup! Trailers are made with junk Chinese shackles and suspension parts. I could go on and on but at least upgrade to Electric over Hydraulic Brakes! Disc preferred obviously! The trailer controls the load it's hauling. Sucks though cause trailers cost so much and they don't even come with an engine and trans! Lol

Got into a new 2500HD Denali Duramax in late August (2007 Dmax w 345k was hard to part with). Felt every crack in the road before dropping air to 63 front and 61 rear. Rides smooth while getting 22mpg highway / 18 city. Hope to get 100k out of tires doing this, worked on the last one.

I have been using Ram 2500 trucks for the past four years in my transport business. I could not be happier and I bleed Ford Blue! I own three Full-size Broncos, an Ecoboost Explorer Sport, 7.3L Excursion and F350 CC DRW LB... but haul with the latest 2019 Ram 2500. I had 420K miles with 90% towing on my 2018 Ram 2500 Laramie and never ONCE had an issue with the transmission. I just do not drive like a JACKA__, always had the Exhaust brake on and used the same Walmart DEF without fail. I installed the AirLift brand airbags and would run between 5-50 psi depending on the load. The new 2019 is quieter and has more power than the 2018, even with the Level 3 Bullydog tune I had on the 2018. I haul my 43' Scarab AVS on the triple Myco aluminum trailer all the time from SC to Florida, netting 13-15 mpg at 65-75 mph. I can get 11-13 mpg pulling the 43' Black Thunder on a steel Manning trailer. When hauling larger boats like a 35' Everglades, it will dip down to 10-11 mpg due to the t-top and bow flare catching more air. Worse MPG was hauling the Stacker Trailer to Northern California in a bad headwind... netting about 9mpg which was better than the Motorcoach's 6-7mpg.
