C3 Corvette

with c3's that have sat that long replace all the calipers with ones that have been stainless lined. if there is any rust in the fuel tank just replace it, it is cheaper in the long run. I have a 67 427 tri power conv. in the shop right now that has sat for the last 6 years and the fuel tank is so rusted it is barely scrap. replace any of the rubber hoses and belts, rebuild the carb and drive it.

Just to save yourself some grief and overhauls - drop the tank and clean/replace it and chemical clean/purge the entire fuel system incl. going through the carb if its sat that long.
its a PIA job but only has to be done once properly (and easier done before you trying to diagnose a list of gremlins).
Nice find especially is all original timepiece.

I don't know how far you want to take your winter project but you can get a copy of the original invoice which lists the options. (Official repro tank sheets are only avail for '81 and newer from Bowling Green)
https://www.corvetteactioncenter.com...x.php?cmd=area
With that there are a few "companies" that are creating a tank sheet.....not original but it is what it is.

I redid the engine in a '70 small block 4 sp conv vette that was originally dark blue with a white interior. car was gorgeous when I first saw it. shortly after he got it (before the rebuild) he had it painted red with a red interior. not nearly as pretty as it was but that was what he wanted. cortez silver is really pretty when done right. always loved that color on them.

+2 on keenparts of course they are 4 miles from my house so I am kind of biased cause I don’t have to wait for shipping. My 70 is Cortez silver and it just turned 50k miles on Sunday not my favorite year corvette but when your dad buys it 6 months before you were born and dad is no longer here I will never part with it

Www.corvetteforum.com is a must join resource.
I live about 20 minutes from Zip Corvette, and have been there many times and have spent a lot of money there on my C5. My sister had a 1968 C3 327, and bought a fair amount of parts from them as well (sold it on BringATrailer).
