Good Video link - they have a few good vids to explain the how's and why's of brake bleeding troubles (ie, level of the car) in the Vette's
Definitely easier to watch once than continually bleeding and getting no where.

Tried to start is a couple weeks a go using started fluid to get some fuel from the tank to the carb, it cranked 3 or 4 times then it quit cranking, head scratch
......found the issue a couple days later, then no spark (fixed ) now its backfiring out the carb and tale pipe, one time it back fired out the carb by just turning the key on, then I walked away.....
dang thing just just about wore me out, I haven't messed with it, I need to check the rotor clocking but I think its close, hydraulic lifters could I have them to tight ?? about 3/4 turn down after 0 lash

First confirm #1 TDC and check rotor Should be on #1,
Make sure the Carb is not dripping fuel Float level Adj.
Pretty sure you have check these things but a second look is always good
