HawkX66...

How about a response to my post above about handling an emergency. What is comical is how you skip the hard questions.

I'm not going to argue, you can tow it with a Wrangler as far as I'm concerned, but what ICDED posted about real world weight is the reality and if something happened you could find yourself in a little bit of trouble.

This is very similar in both overall weight and weight distribution to my father's 27' wellcraft coastal. It's about an 8k boat but with 1000lbs in fuel anda triple axle aluminum trailer that weighs North of 2000lbs the load ends up being in the 12k range. On top of that it's a very top heavy load and in a lot of ways tows much worse than my Cig even though my Cig weighs several k more. Honestly - its plenty of weight for my Diesel LWB F350. I wouldn't want to have much less truck, and my ramp is only about 5-6 miles away.

We are having good results pulling a little over 10k pounds with a 2019 F-350 gas crew cab long bed. Ordered the truck with 4.30 gears and it accelerates smoothly with the boat in tow. We were towing with a Dodge 3500 dually 5.9 cummins before and I prefer the brakes on the new Ford. It just has that planted feel with the tongue weight of the trailer on the hitch. Don't get me wrong the Dodge was sufficient but the new ford boxed frame is massive and is probably what gives it such a secure feeling while towing.

lmao!
I had a F150 with the 5.4L , that thing would lose a race to a school bus.
Most anemic engine ever, I had to throw a supercharger on it so it would at least spin the tires on ice

Mine has a 6.2 in it, not sure of the gear ratio.

Gear ratio is everything when it comes to towing. Of course 1000 ft pd of torque doesn't hurt either

Ive driven/plowed snow with several Ford 6.2 Always thought they had great power (never towed) Ford's new 7.3 gas engine is supposed to be a torque monster, so says the ads and specs. I tow with a 5.4 and always thought it did all I could ask for a 330 CID engine.
