Goodyear buys Cooper tires. This SUCKS!!!!

Ive always found that goodyears were great for the first year or so...then for some reason they seem to get hardened and they turn slippery, then first sign of rain or moisture and its like your on ice from every start...no problems on dry or in the summer heat. I also had a set of goodyears (the last ones ever) i bought for my old dually......even though they were load range E the sidewalls were so soft the back of the truck felt like it would hop/skip around turns going over bumps...hated them! Had them on for about 6months and basically gave them away.

I agree with you guys. Cooper are great, goodyear not so much. Man I hope GY doesn't mess up a good thing.
It's astonishing how unanimous this opinion is here. I hope GY sees this, it can't just be us on OSO that thinks this.

I started a thread but as the Coopers are named by the 440K tire recall I am adding this here as well ...

I've never been a Goodyear fan other than the old Wingfoot I had on my Trans-Am. I have the new Wrangler Ultra-Terrain on my Yukon Denali and I have to admit that in foul weather they are really good. I actually squeal the tires in the rain. I have to say that on snow, ice and rain they are better than the BFG All Terrain KO2's I had on before. My biggest complaint is that for the same tire size, I lose 1" of tread width with the Goodyear over the BFG. I only have 20k on them, but they seem to be wearing really well. For me that's saying something as I drive the Denali pretty hard. I actually drift more corners in it than my Corvette.

The plate is perfect....only thing else it could have been is "Huggy B"..
Aftermarket T-Tops?

They are Hurst Hatches adapted from a Ford LTD-II of the same era. This car had them installed when new, and the car was special ordered sans the moonroof for this purpose.
I found the guy several years ago that actually installed them. He said he was the only one that put them in a Mark V, and he only did it to 5 of them.
The T-Tops are the main reason I own the car. Related:, this Monte Carlo was my first car, and my Father had a 1976 Mercury Grand Marquis Brougham that I coveted, yet he sold it before I turned 16.
I opted to change up the plate a few months ago, but the name will always be Huggy, and always gender associated as "my big girl."
I always wear the fedora when driving her, and I've been shopping for the right cane.
I have more fun with the Lincoln that I could have ever imagined. I get stopped left and right. I can't drive it to appointments because I am never on time.
A professional car collector friend of mine; the first time he saw it pulling into Cars and Coffee, later shared his thoughts as he followed it in; not knowing that I owned the car.
"Wow, you don't see those everyday, and never with T-Tops."
"Wow, that's a white guy driving it!"
Then when I got out of it...
"Damn, I KNOW that white guy!"

VERY COOL ^^^^
BTW, I always loved that Monte body or the Hurst 442 styling but they needed the T-tops to be complete... guess I am showing my age as after that body, the newer Monte Carlo was just re badging the Chev version of the Ford Turtle (Taurus) and I never looked at them again.

Had an 80 442 T-roof car from 80-90. Learned camshaft replacing, head porting, torque converters, and parts breaking in that car. Lol. Recaro’s, Vdo’s, centerlines, fast women, life was good. Then I discovered BIg Block Chevy’s lol.
