I believe all the trucks waiting for chips are spoken for as in they are either retail orders or SIM orders that are spoken for. The dealers know what trucks are sitting waiting on chips, keep in mind that the vin# and destination is all known about 2 weeks after the order is placed.

I ordered a 2022 F450 Platinum Dually back in June. Got email that truck should begin being built on August 30th. Sold my 2009 F250. Took the money and ran. 10 speed transmission is a deal changer. Such a great truck with so much power.

Simple. Went to local dealership. Sat down, built it and placed order. I don’t need it immediately, so the longer it takes to build, I’m cool with it. I’m thinking early October I’ll get it.

I was referring to the 2022 Super Duty Configurator on the Ford Website. It just went operational 3 weeks ago but the cutoff to order a 2022 was last Friday. Seems silly that they would only have the configurator up for 2 weeks before they closed the order banks. My order was placed through my local dealer.

Got it,,,,, when you get that truck what do you plan to tow with it?

I ask because I have been looking at the 7.3 10 speed combo, seems with what I need why pay the $$$$$ for the 6.7 and high fuel cost as well.

That's been one of my questions too. In '04 I bought an F250 w/ 5.4L brand new. Drove it for one year and couldn't wait to get rid of it. The gasser would have to downshift/upshift/downshift before I got up long grades that weren't too steep in Mass. Drove me nuts with all the shifting. Great truck otherwise. I bought an 05 F350 w/6.0 the next year and couldn't have been happier for more than 100k miles.
I know the 5.4L was a completely different animal than what's offered now, but I don't want to kick myself in the ass buying a gasser if I need a diesel.

Beautiful truck. I'm going to test drive a couple. I test drove my 04 5.4L, but it was only around town. I should have hit the highway with it.
