instead of wondering what he could tow, should have worried about what he could stop... sad

WOW, just WOW ! I never realized how big the boat was until you compare it to a full size truck. Things must have been going poorly for a long time. I told drivers I've trained " put that ***** into the ditch early " a good driver never goes into something without having an exit planned out . Has the boat and trailer owner pulled into this mess?

Those pictures shine a whole new light on this story. A five axle trailer?

Thanks for those pics, offshoredrillin, definitely helps explain the wreck. As you note so importantly, it isn't how much you can PULL, it's how much you can stop. I've seen F-250s and Chevy HDs with small bulldozers on heavy trailers..and always wonder what the stopping distance is for those things...

Skid marks says it wasn't the first time. I want to know how that boat got on the trailer, no way at the ramp, had to be hoisted.

"that thing looks like boss hogg in some daisy dukes"

That looks to me like a "Yard Trailer" meaning it doesn't leave the yard cause it probably doesn't have any brakes!
Ive never seen a 5 axle trailer on the road....ever....
