Thanks for that, the one I had was preliminary I do think what most are saying is there is a different in having the same rating and the same stability. Both may be rated the same but the longer wheel base makes it more stable.

But this morning I was looking at the Ford towing guide and see the SB and LB now have the same towing capacity?

FWIW, Ford stretched out their wheelbase of the CC LB trucks when they resigned in 2017. They did this since fewer folks are buying DRW trucks now, and wheelbase also helps with stability in towing.
The downfall is the turning radius & diameter suffered. IMHO, the Ford CC LB SRW trucks look the 'most odd' in that configuration since the rear axle is pushed a few more inches back compared to the GM and Ram offerings.

Mine is a 2018 and I was surprised to see max conventional towing up 5000lbs in the same configuration truck. 10spd tranny now but maybe better brakes too?

Haven't driven a GM or dodge lately but I can say the turning radius on my personal and work fork does suck

I documented my findings and figures on one of the truck threads years ago. I literally took tape measures with me on test drives for the CC LB SRW trucks, GMC, Ford, and Ram. The sales people thought I was nuts. I just told them to shut up and let me do my thing.

When I narrowed it down to a Ford vs. Ram, I took both trucks in the CC LB SRW configuration home on 24 hour test drives. With the Ram, I could swing a full 180 in my long driveway; helpful when pulling certain trailers, so I didn't have to back down the whole thing. With the Ford, I had to do a 3 point turn.

I was actually willing to overlook that with the Ford, as I was trying to convince myself to buy it. The fact that the stock Platinum seats hurt my back is what did in the Ford (also a common complaint of the 2017 trucks at the time).
I'd still consider a new Ford. But I am SUPER happy with my Ram, and it's not going anywhere. Now that I am into car racing, I was looking into getting a Class-A tag axle coach. Alas, I just didn't want to give up my Ram; so I bought a bigger 5th wheel toy hauler.

I remember that thread, good luck trying that today. Funny now you are lucky to find a truck on the lot that isn't sold, unless its a base level work truck.
