Truck is looking awesome!

What kind of issues with the air ride and also which controller are you using? My frustrations with Fi-tech fuel injection has me ready for the LS swap and then getting pre-set ride height upon startup and maintaining that ride is my next biggest challenge.

For the LS Swap guys, Is there anything on an LS swap that was an unexpected pain in the a$$? Currently frustrated as heck with aftermarket FI on a SBC/ turbo 400 setup that I wanted to upgrade to 4spd automatic. At this point instead of replacing the FItech and converting to a 4L60 I’m thinking it’s time to swap all for an LS package. Fuel system, computer, etc will need attention are there any other surprises?

The system I got with the truck is Air Maxx with the EVALVE ? controller, the issue is keeping it aired up been chasing pipe fitting leaks, Im about to chuck this chit out the window and go coil over. I pulled all those pressure sensors off the top of the valve body and plugged them trying to eliminate things that can leak.

I am neither a fan nor hater of the air ride systems and since I am not concerned about how low can ya go, have been thinking about going back to spring suspension. I am ready for being able to drive or let it rip anytime and anywhere. The waiting 5 minutes for compressors etc before the first drive of the month is pretty silly. 😆

I hate air ride as the systems you can buy are no where near what the factory setups are like. the compressors tend to be loud and after about a year they wear out and take twice as long to air up. plus I hate the way they handle. coilovers are a much better way and far more tunable unless you are one of the guys that just has to show up at the car show and lay the frame on the ground (I am not one of those). as for the LS get one from 2006 truck or 2005 car or earlier as they dont have the DOD, etc to deal with. if you get a fly by wire make sure to get the TAC and gas pedal as there are different ones based on the harness and ECM with the engine. as for fuel I put a pump in the tank and use a corvette filter that has the regulator built in and mounted it in the back so the return hose is only about 20" long.
