Dexter from the US and Alko from Germany merged their trailer parts businesses a few years ago into a company called DexKo which has in turn acquired a huge number of trailer parts manufacturers.

I hope that it over time leads to a single portfolio of parts that are approved both in the US and the EU. That would make it a lot easier to use US trailers in Europe.
