just to throw this out there, I’d try to give magic tilt trailer parts out of Florida a call. My trailer is over 10 years old. I put a third axle on. I measured existing axle width from end flush mt surface of hub to hub. Also the spring perch distance. They have square tube. Just look what they have and see if something works online. As someone mentioned, if they are notthe same exact width, like 93 vs 92 or something….that wont matter. You just need to get the closest width and the spring distance and in reality, there is some side to side give with that too. Just after you get them, make sure tire looks straight up and down and toe in vs out compared to other axle is same…. Make sure nothing obviously wrong. just another thought I reached out to the and sent them the specs from Heritage. We'll see what they say. Thanks. Brad. |

Not sure if they may be a source for parts..it does like maple syrup I imagine his time and money spent He could purchased a new one He metal worked, made perm board mounts to fit the hull Lowered it in the cradle but its time for springs My cfo. Gives me those looks as well I hope you get it worked out Tires tearing up on a trip sucks not to mention. Our wonderful highways |

They have them, literally, on the shelf. ~$1700 for two. Literally HALF the price Dexter quoted me. The only problem is that freight is gonna kill me. Best news I’ve heard in a bit…. I can get them direct from Heritage, $1700 for the pair, and pic them up from the MFR that makes them, which is only about a 2-1/2hr drive from our place on Cumberland. Sounds like an excuse to go to the lake and make a small road trip. Saves me the $700 freight :eek: (not kidding). Thanks. Brad. |

Already a done deal. Exact replacement acord are ordered through Heritage, and I’m gonna pick them up at K2 MFG, who actually does the fabrication. They should be ready for pickup April 8th. Thanks. Brad. |
I need to correct my statement that Dexter owns Axis trailer products. They do not own Axis. Axis is a manufacturer.

Turns out, K2 MFG shipped my axles to Heritage. Oops. So the rep at Heritage offered to meet me in Louisville and make the exchange, which actually saved me 2-1/2 to 3 hrs of drive time, total. We got back home from Cumberland on Sunday, I dropped the axles off for powder coat Monday afternoon and got them back Wednesday afternoon. Kewl. It’s all coming together…. Dropped the boat in at our local overgrown mud puddle, spent the day cruising around. I can’t WOT it yet, as we still have the tuning to be done after the cam swap, but we have the WBO2 in and closed loop on, so we were safe, but the 30” prop is going to work out great and I love the feel of the new full hydraulic steering. We then parked it for the weekend at the marina. Came in this morning and got to work pulling the trailer apart, and discovered this…. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...90f33af7c.jpeg The purple is the old axle, and the black one is the new. They are obviously different. I sent the pics and called the heritage rep. Somehow, somewhere along the way, he got confused and thought my trailer was a 2011 model instead of 2001, and, apparently, they changed the brake configuration somewhere in the interim. So he’s sending me the mating caliper and bracket, free of charge. I had also ordered new bearings, races and retainers from Heritage, as well as new U-bolts, lock nuts and lock washers from McMaster-Carr. We are now at a dead stop until all these parts come in (should be no later than Wednesday), but at least I’ll have everything axle-adjacent new except the hubs. The axles do, however, mate up with the leaf springs perfectly, though, so I should be good from this point forward, $30/day marina slip fee aside. Never a dull moment….. :faint2: Thanks. Brad. |
