gmc for me, seats are a little more comfy on the long runs than my 1999 f350's were. getting around the same fuel mileage, tows my boat like nothing is back there and all stock. Also the trans is great when going down grades.

I'm simply amazed at the number of people that still refer to the Cummins engines as "Cummings", even though it's even spelled out on the side of the truck. Kind of makes it sound like it oughta be in the uncensored section,,,,,,,,

I think they all three have strong points.

GMC has great looks (better than Chevrolet) and the Duramax/Allison is awesome.

FMC has proven track record with the PSD, and you see a lot of them on the road.

Dodge has the Cummins, good old fashioned/old school pullin' mule of diesel, the choice of semi-truck drivers.

One neat thing about Dodge in the DC area... Lustine Dodge in Woodbridge VA has a WARRANTY FOR LIFE program at no extra charge. You buy a Dodge (or Toyota or Scion) and they warranty it for LIFE as long as you own it. Not a bad gig, but I am sticking with what I own for a while. I am a tried and true GM man, but I am glad I am not making a decision on buying a bigger truck right now, and it would be REALLY tough for me to make.

GLH, check out the white 2004 GMC dually in the classifieds for sale by OSO's 43Thunder. They bought it just this year, and other business interests have taken down a different path. Its brand spankin new without the initial depreciation hit. It does not have leather, but any quality shop can add that for you.

Tim, like Boot alluded, many dealers "bomb" the diesels. The only drawback is that if you are "flagged" at a dealership as having mods done to your truck and they enter it into the computer, you are, shall we say, SOL!!!! Once in the computer, your warranty will be declined at any dealership nationwide. That is unless said dealership wants to absorb the repair internally, which is VERY doubtful.

With that said, if you have a good relationship with the service department you use, ask them their thoughts, or better yet, enlist a dealership that enhances the trucks to do it and then if any problems occur return it to them for warranty.

One thing is for certain though, if you want to 100% make sure your warranty stays effective, don't enhance the vehicle.
