The Superchips micro-tuner won't make any problems with warranty, and I seel them. Have had very good luck and substantial fuel savings with them.

Re: Duramax Power Chip
Edge Juice with the Attitude is the only way to go. It has built in defueling when a set EGT level is hit, on the go power level adjustments, built in boost, pyro, tranny slip, as well as half a dozen other options to monitor. I've had one on my truck for a year and a half now and haven't had any problems. Prior to that I had a Superchips and it was a pain in the ass. Everytime you want to change anything you have to shut the truck down, reflash the PROM, and it would constantly throw overboost codes. I gave mine away.
Regardless of what you do, if you're going to run any kind of program on it, or for that matter, pull any kind of a substantial load, if you don't go with the Edge/Attitude with the gauges built in, you at least need a pyro. A boost gauge is nice, but not a necessity. From the factory, all the new common rail injected trucks can get hot enough to melt down. Just a little fyi.
Another thing to consider would be an aftermarket exhaust and intake. I run a Gibson on mine for exhaust and a K&N FIPK intake and love it. When you start tweaking on them, the more air you can move will help keep the EGT's down.
Hope that helps a little bit. If you have anymore questions, just ask.

what do you want to do with the rig? for big power you have tts extreme, seems most are edge people. You also have quadzilla stealth, bully dog, diablo, duramaximizer, van akken, banks, sniper programs. lots to look at out there that arent as popular and have good reviews as well.

I just did the Diablo Predator programmer and a AFE II intake...
I wanted the Edge/Juice.. But I didn't want to hard mount anything that might bite me in the azz at the Chevy dealer...
I have the stock pipes for now, so I programmed for 65hp. This thing rips.
You can't really just do the computer.. They really need free'd up exhaust and intake to keep EGTs down, especially if you pull more than 5,000lb.
