Re: Propeller for 280
On my 26 Thoroughbred, I'm running a Halls labbed Bravo 30". My slip numbers are still a little high, but the midrange is better than my old Hydro. Also, I like the handling much better with the Bravo. I think I gave up a little speed, but it was worth it. I tried a new (unlabbed) 26" Hydromotve Q5X five-blade, (borrowed), and it was NICE! Picked up some serious mid (3500 rpms/50mph) and felt really good. That's my next prop for sure. Slip as down to around 10-12%, too.

Re: Propeller for 280
I have a '96 280 with 540 and a little over 600 hp and run a labbed 30 bravo by Mike Hall. He says I really should use a 32, but don't have the extra money. I have turned the prop as high as 5600 rpm at about 83 on gps. Hit a little sand bar here at Havasu and took some of the edge off and down to around 5400. My mid range is awsome...I can accelerate as fast as a lot of blown boats.

Re: Propeller for 280
I had a 280 with HP500 and B&M Blower approx 650Hp.
With 30P Bravo 1 rode too flat and 85 MPH
With 29 labbed hydro totally different attitude and 88 MPH.
I recommend the hydro labbed hands down. I did not like the Bravo at all!
