Default Prop for a '98 260

My friend has a 98 260 and was asking me for prop advice. He is running a 26 bravo now but he increased HP and needs to reprop. Is a Bravo 1 the best prop for this hull? What about a Hydromotive? Mirage Plus?

Hydromotive or Bravo work well. Hydromotive is generally faster but some people prefer the Bravo's handling. If possible try both and decide. Rule of thumb is to use a 2" smaller pitch on a Hydro compared to Bravo (Bravo pitch is overstated).

My 2000 260, with 454 Mag MPI, eddie marine exhaust, arizona speed and marine reprogram and upgrade kit was turning a 26 labbed hydromotive @5200. The boat would run 75 on gps, in fresh water with no problem. I thought it handled fairly well with the Hydromotive. Did not try any other props.

I've tried a few different props on my 26', the hydromotive seems to work the best, I think the handing is great, the pad bottom needs transom lift & the hydro is best for that.
