Exactly
The object is not to ridicule, the object is to offer constructive opinions as to what would make an great boat even better. It can be a struggle to constantly improve your product but with the help and ideas of owners and potential buyers the job becomes easier. Paul |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
Ok,I will give it a shot,
First off I love my Velocity, fast, stable and will eat up the rough water. The boat does have a non factory paint scheme as well as big power in it as well as aftermarket drives to handle the power. If I was going to make change at the company I think I would start to give more options on paint and possible power options other than Mercury not that Mercury is bad and that is what I do run but there are alot of other options out there for alot less money.I do believe that possibly making dash and interior changes or upgrades would be a good idea and the NUMBER ONE thing is please get away from the windshield that looks like it belongs on a Sea Ray and go back to a full wrap aroung windshild or wind screen.Steve has always gone out of his way to try and help me out in any way that he could and I am very proud to have owned several of his boats and will continue to do so.Just a few ideas. Bill Weber |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I have been looking at the 290SC and hope to get one in the next couple of years. One thing I like about the boat is that there is lots of good space not lost due to styling fluff. Form follows function. Nice big, flat sunpad and swim platform. The dash could use some contuoring and colors, but no monster molded megalith that adds weight and cost and removes space. The cabin walk-thru is a good size, but could use some improvement as mentioned. The trimmer front seats add about 4" to rear seat legroom, so they should be standard.
The most practical feature I would like to see is a molded-lid anchor locker in the bow like Donzi, Fountain and Formula have. Who wants to drag the dirty rope and anchor back and forth across the boat everytime you stop somewhere? Fancy graphics are critical for some, but do continue to offer the clean look for those of us not into 70's era flash that may be out of style in 5 years. And always offer a decent glass windshield option like it has now--I won't consider a boat without one! |

Great...Thanks keep them coming

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I agree with Thong Fellow about the dash upgrades and the sliding doors. I've looked at the 290SC as a possible next boat on several occasions. The dash layout and the flimsy door are not selling points for me. I like a little "bling" on the dash :D
I'm glad to see Velocity is collecting some "voice of the customer" data. If you don't build what people want they'll buy it from someone else. |
Re: Honest Opinions Needed
I was just joking.I agree though. The dash could use some other design.

Re: Honest Opinions Needed
No bash here! I would not be looking at #3, if there were real issues. Too much crap slows you down anyway.

I agree with all of the above. dash, robust cabin doors, and make the windshields an option, but stick with the fairing as standard equipment. As far as the paint goes. I think some toned down modern paint would be nice. Nothing crazy, but i've always like this style of paint scheme.....
