If you do find an exhaust system that does not perfectly line up with your transom holes, Trident makes a silicone exhaust hose that is somewhat flexible. I have used it to make up for a few inches of offset within less than a foot. It is the blue stuff. It is expensive, but better than fighting with the standard black hose.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll take some measurements and figure out what my options really are. I'm heading to hawaii tomorrow morning, so i won't get a chance till the end of next week.

Well, I stopped by my engine guy's shop tonight. Its coming along. Decided to go with the EMI Thunder exhaust with stainless risers. He had a set there that was almost brand new that he gave me a real good deal on. He's gonna repaint it the same graphite metallic as the block. We're also talking about repainting my swim platform, controls and bezels that same graphite color. We should be firing it up in the next couple of weeks, but we're gonna wait for the weather to warm up before putting in the boat.

I have used EMI's on a few motors in the past. Was very pleased. Hope everything fires well.

It's pretty much done. The guy building my engine is a welder by trade and he's modifying my exhaust right now to run mostly dry. My next step is to buy some external steering and then pull the swim platform, controls, and bezels to be painted. Then we have to put in the new diamond plating in the engine compartment.

We aren't gonna drop the engine in until the weather breaks.

I haven't decided yet. I want to eventually so i may do it now or wait until next year and do the handles and bolster legs then. I think its gonna come down to how much time money and patience i have once the weather warms up a bit.
