Yeah, fortunately for me the previous owner did have it winterized at a marina. I just can't figure out why they did not remove the drain plug!!!

I'll have everything checked before it goes in the water anyway. I will also look into the 383 kit.

The boat has a great engine area with lots of space, so the 383 is perfect because it is lighter then the 454 or 496 and less expensive.
Might be a good replacement for you. Look at the cost of labor and parts. A drop in engine is sometimes less labor expensive and you can get a warranty.
Good Luck.
Thanks for the insight. That's amazing a 383 can push that many more horsepower over a 350. The only catch for me would be the 11k, that's a bit steep right now. I still have to transport the boat up to Canada which is going to put me back 3 grand if I put it on a flat bed. I am really hoping that it looks worse than it is from the picture . . . I hope!

If you spend the money upfront rather than try and patch it you will save money in the long run. Its like fixing an old car - yah it might get you another month or year, but eventually you will need a new one.
True. I will have a lot to consider once I get the engine looked at by a mechanic. Untill then I will cross my fingers and hope that a little WD40 will make everthing like new again ;-)

Yeah, I will definitely have someone who knows what they are doing inspect everything before it goes into the water. That might be a very expensive conversation thou, so I am not looking forward to it :-(
