The $1000+ Ken at Velocity quoted me has me thinking not this year.
Not taking away from anyones taste or boat, I like them without windshields, no rail, no hatch and large HP with a whistle noise.

By then you may decide to keep it and if not you will at least have a chance to get some real money for it. DO what you have to do but now isn't the time to sell it is a good time to buy. I put mine on ebay last fall 2003 model, still some good weather left and it only got up to $57,100,00 and that was a no reserve auction. I ended up talking the guy that bought it out of buying it and refunded his deposit. This is just my 2 cents. Any one agree? Disagree?
I have to agree, and Mike your not going to like what I have to say either.
As you know my 1999 28 was owned by VelocityRick and he had it for sale with power for the same $$ you are asking. Rick did the Ebay thing too with no luck and then eventually traded it in against another boat. If I had been looking at Velocitys a month earlier, I would have paid Rick the 30K with power vs. the 24K I paid without.
IMHO your boat is not worth a whole lot more with that monster engine than it would be with a stock Merc big block. You may consider selling the engine and boat separately, I think you'll get more $$ in the end. I don’t want to insult you with but I’d say you’d be lucky to get 2/3 of what you’re asking right now. It is truly a buyers market...

Here's my old '96 26' (back when a 26 was REALLY a 26' boat).

Sold it in '02 and I hear it has a nice home up in VA or NC.

1996 26' Thoroughbred Velocity Blueprinted bottom
Express Engines 461CI motor, 565 HP @ 6000 RPM, 525 ft-lb @ 5200
