On the Velocity 30 the centerline of the prop shaft should be right at or just slightly below the bottom's running surface just forward of it.
Most newer Velocity 30 owners over-trim their boats. The pad keel needs less trim than one might use on a conventional vee. There's a reason many of them had those long tabs- it's much easier to make fine attitude adjustments with little tab moves than lots of trim. I think that boat has Wolverine tabs- alot of the raceboats of that vintage did.
They're prop-sensitive too. It's not hard to get one porpoising or walking with prop selection.
The TRS will take more torque than the SSM II.
