There you go! So now that you know you only need to of those trick valves you can send me the other two for giving you the poop on the deal to start with. Though I did the same thing for less than ten bucks originaly. Hey, I'm cheap, what can I say. :drink: |

Thanks for the tip Ragged, that's why I keep you around at no charge.
You're welcome! I'll admit the valve deal sounds like the tits. So tell me are those your Super Cat motors for sale? Sure look the same, appear to be in a Velocity, and they're in Oklahoma. What's up with that? |

I am lost VV.
You have the boat for sale on ebay, the drivetrain for sale on OSO, and you are looking for props in the wanted sections. What the heII are you doing? Do you need me to take you for another ride? Give me a call this afternoon, I will be making a long trip home from Odessa. |
Well I got a chance to see and ride in that pretty boat of KC 's . It is even better in person . The rigging looks clean and that truck tows that trailer like it's not even back there . When he gets her dialed in look for some big #'s on top end . It seems light and fast , I am sure he will bruse a lot of egos wih that one . KC was a hell of a host , if your ever in Oklahoma you should check him out . He will show you what southern hospatality is all about . Thanks again .
PS I am in Little Rock tonite and heading to Nashville tomorrow , ta ta for now |
Glad to here that Ray!! Be safe!!

Ray, your welcome here anytime and very nice to finally meet you. Thanks for the tips driving this thing. I hope I didn't scare you going so fast . :lolhit: When I got home those props I was telling you about were sitting on my porch. I guess they delivered them right after we left to the lake. I got them on and the 34's are in the swap sec if any one needs them. You take it easy on the rode and keep us informed on the trip. While you are in TN. you should't miss Cherohala Skyway This cyclist's dream road connects Robbinsville, North Carolina, with Tellico Plains, Tennessee. There are no facilities other than restrooms for the entire 40 miles. There is little evidence of civilization from views that rival or surpass any from the Blue Ridge Parkway. I can almost smell it as I speek. To take the Cherohala Skyway, just get yourself to Tellico Plains, TN which is located about 25 miles south of I-75 between Knoxville and Chattanooga, TN. From there you take Highway 165 east which at the TN/NC border will change names to "National Forest Road." Its a little difficult to describe at that point but I recommend you take a right on to Cherahala Skyway and take that only about a mile and then you want to take a left on to "National Forest Road" which will initially have you running north east but overall will take you east through the mountains and into Robinsville North Carolina. Overall, just make sure you follow the signs to Robinsville, NC.

I am in the process of installing thru hull water pickups, I'm just not getting enough water with through the sportsmasters pickups. I'm going with Teauge thruhulls instead of thru transoms because I can't get to them with the engines installed. They will be about 22" from the end of the pad towards the front, so I should be good to get plenty of water there. Through hull water pickup. 1.5" pickup tube at a 30 degree forward angle. 1.25" female NPT fitting. I got the sea strainers out waiting on parts.

Holler if you need a hand. What are you going to do with the drive water?

I would think about routing your drive water back out and use it to cool the drives.
|
Didnt sell?

It just comes in and goes back out, no pump.

I'm planning to leave the drive water like it is at the strainer and run the pickups to the strainer in the other 1 1/4" hole I have there. Am I thinking wrong? Both going in the strainer and the pump sucks from the bottom of the strainer.

Maybe for some, but others require pumping!!:party-smiley-004: |
On this boat and my last they they are mounted at the transom . I think you want to leave the running surface as undisturbed as possible . Teague makes an adjustable one to adjust the height to modify the drag and pressure .

My location

mine are on the bottom of the pad on either side of the speedo pick-up , the speedo never seems to work on this boat anyway
|
KC,
I am installing a beam and trolly in my building. We can lift one engine out and do the work. Wait for offseason and we will set them on the transom????? |

I think I can drill a hole right through the top of extension boxes slap in a 12-An bulkhead fitting and route the drive water right there over the drives. I took the side plate off the boxes and have good access to the water hose. Reduce the 1-1/4 to 3/4 out the top and over the drives. Use the two thruhulls for the motors. |

OK, here is what I came up with to discharge the drive water....This is a replacement of the OEM plastic inlet supply on the Bravo drive that allows stainless braided line plumbing. The adapter has 3/4" NPT threads and is hard coat anodized. I'll replace the old plastic 1 1/4" with this 3/4 inch and route it out the top of the extension boxes with a 90 looking towards the back to help cool the drives. I'll let you know how it works out. This should be a good clean exit. Thanks again

Man these thru hulls are a blast to install. They are nice pieces they have a 1-1/2 tube x 1-1/4 NPT and the base is 3" x 5". These are angled at 30 degrees. I cut a pattern from a piece of pressure treated 1" x 6" and drilled a 1-1/2" hole thru it at 30 degrees. My plan is to take this board and position it where it goes inside the boat and drill the holes using the board as a pattern/guide glass over this board later to give the thru hulls a little more sturdy base to sit on other than just the hull of the boat. After the holes are drilled I will counter sink the four outer holes from under the boat. Install the screws and install dowell rod in the counter sunk holes to complet the install except for trimming the tube. If these slow me down 2-3 MPH and keep me cool that's ok with me...To be continued
|
I would think the leading edge will need to be flush with the bottom and the trailing edge will need 1/8 to 1/4 inch. The attitude of the boat will probably play a role too.
Going to be at Texoma for labor day? |

Going to be at Texoma for labor day? Also drilled the 3/4" holes on top of the extension boxes for the drive water to act as showers. If these slow me down 2-3-4 MPH and keeps me cool I'm fine with that. They ended up 19" from the transom and mounted 4" on each side of center directly on the pad. Sorta tricky drilling at 30 degrees towards the front one way and what ever angle the pad is at the other way. |
Holy chit. What are you going to use to fill the void areas where the tubes arent tight to the hole?
Looks like that port drive indicator cable needs help too! DON'T SINK!!!!!! |

Make sure you put some good ball valves on top of those!! Would suck if a hose comes of/loose and you can't stop the water!!!
Any idea on how much you are going to let stick down past the hull?? Do you have water pressure bypasses?? |
