It's from the inherent slop in the cable that causes it, with hydraulic all you have to do is apply more throttle and it's gone. |
it's funny cause i just di a walk around on the boat and noticed some play in between the drive and the wheel, then spoke to a couple of people who said thats normal..... guess that's the next upgrade

I think most of your slack is between the seat and the steering wheel.:evilb:VV |
vector thanks!, lemme know about the rams........ your probably right about that slack.....
can't even come up with a good comeback... damn i guess you can't fix stupid... |
What rpm are you spinning the 24 pitch Bravo? You may be a under-propped unless 4500 feet elevation causes more power loss then I think it does. I do think that you are up on the pad at 76 mph. I am spinning a labbed 27 hydro 4 blade with a 502 mag with headers. On a good day with some chop I get 72-73 mph

A friend of mine used to race velocity's and said the 26 Hydromotive wasn best, I personally saw the best results from a labbed 28 Bravo. Unfortunately, unless you have a dive mask and can get to Metro Beach in Harrison Township, you'll have to buy one. Let the wife drive and that was that... |
The rpm is 5400 with the twenty four. I have tried a bravo one from the 24, 26, 28, 30, and a 28, 30 left handed prop. The elevation here is really a killer on engine power. Soon I will have the big motor here and the new drive so I will have to start all over agian. It has been fun getting to know the boat with little power how its time to wake her up:party-smiley-048:.

Pat,
What speeds were you seeing in the 24' Superboat with the same engine and drive? Thanks, Dan

I've only run my new to me boat for about 2 hours so far with one WOT blast mixed in. I saw 67mph at 4600rpm with a 26p B1, 415HP/502MagMPI.

The top speed I saw was 78 with a labbed 27p M+. I am confident that once I've got my engine running right, (ECU issues) the Velocity will top out over 70... |
