The Pad

Hey guys,
Got my 26 in the water about two weeks ago and it runs great. I have about twenty hours on it now and decided to open her up. I ran it as hard as it would go and saw 76 on the gps. It runs good, but I cant seem to get it up on the pad this boat runs 76 and I dont even have to set in the drivers seat. I dont think that I am getting the boat up on the pad. Am I just lacking on power or do I need to try a differnet prop. Thanks for the help Nick

What power, what prop and what gear ratio, all contributing factors.

The engine is a 415 horse 502 that has been modified to put out 500 horse. The prop that seems to work the best is a bravo one 24 pitch. The gear ratio is a 1.5. The other factor that I am running up against is that we are a 4500 feet and running in fresh water.

I'd say your right on with 76mph GPS at 4500' elevation. You may try a 26p B1 or 25p Hydro QIV to compare speed and handling.

I've only run my new to me boat for about 2 hours so far with one WOT blast mixed in. I saw 67mph at 4600rpm with a 26p B1, 415HP/502MagMPI.

Sounds like you are on the pad to me with that setup and elevation.

I'd say your padded too.

Yeah If you are going 76, your definatly on the pad. Why do you think you are not? 24" seems a little low, but maybe not for your elivation. I turn a 27" with 425HP

For the fact that I dont have to drive the boat its the easiest boat I have ever driven. I can run the thing wide open and DOnt have to do anything but drink my beer.:boat:

Your doing fine, my 280m ran up to about 82 and started to chine walk due to cable steering, not hydraulic.

That thing should handle like a waverunner at the speeds your talking, don't look for problems where there are none.

Get another 200 HP and start making 100k boats look stupid!

And enjoy your beer...:cool-smiley-026:
