32 pad on top 30 pad on bottpm

FlashPRace 09-20-2008 08:45 PM

260 pad is like the pic of the 30 pad.
Now, I was told the 260 and 280 pads are the same length.
Is that true?
How much longer is the 30 pad?

DKerns 09-20-2008 09:18 PM

Andy, what is the water pic up for on the both sides of the pad! Seems like that would keep the props from getting "clean" water???? I'm a rookie, so don't hold that question against me if it is a stupid one!!!!!

Looks to me to be the pickups for the intercoolers.

I can't see any difference in the 30' pad vs 32' pad. ? except the 32 looks faster:evilb::party-smiley-004:

Velocity Vector 09-21-2008 07:19 AM

Seems like at speed, we are only running on about 3' 4' of pad anyway. So I don't see a longer pad doing anything if it isn't in the water.?

1HYPER1 09-21-2008 09:25 AM

While running at speed we are on a much shorter pad than the 30 at full speed we are running on probably the same amount of pad but then the balance of the boat comes in to play and the 30 footer is a much better balanced boat because of the bottom configuration.

Andy 09-21-2008 01:28 PM

My pad width is 15 1/4 wide X approx 4' long. And yes the stainless scoops are for the intercooler.

Andy 09-21-2008 01:41 PM

Forgot to mention, the little box with a wire connected to it is a top secret water thickener so all the boats behind me are forced to run through water that resembles jello. So as long as I cheat and make an early start at the line I am assured to win the race in front of Skaters, MTI's and Fountains with 2000-3000 more HP than me( I turn the secret divice off when in front of the Beak Boats cause I can beat them anyway). :drink:

So your saying, if I cut my swim platform off my boat it will be better balanced.

No that is not what I am saying. The 30 was built as a 30 foot boat and the 320 was origionally built out of a 41 foot mold and they shotend the mold to make the boat but never changed the running surface of the boat there for the 320 has a much smaller running surface like the size of a 22 f00t Velocity and the 30 footer has the proper running suface size.

That aught to be against the food and drug laws.

What nobody wants to see my PAD.:angry-smiley-038:

Andy 09-21-2008 10:29 PM

??? what the hell, why would you make a pad the same size on a 40 footer and a 32 footer

MOBILEMERCMAN 09-21-2008 10:31 PM

Same mold.

Andy 09-21-2008 10:35 PM

To cut costs on a new mold probably. What was the width and length within 1/4 in?

MOBILEMERCMAN 09-21-2008 10:47 PM

It has been a while, but I remember it being about 18 inches wide.

Andy 09-21-2008 11:03 PM

So VV's pad is 18", is that righ VV?

MOBILEMERCMAN 09-21-2008 11:11 PM

Andy,
It has been a while the 40 had a noticeably wider pad than the 30. I thought the 30 was about 12. I must be mistaken. If the 30 is 18 than the 40 must have been about 24. The Old 32 is completely different then the 320.

Pat McPherson 09-22-2008 09:54 AM

The pad on my 26'/280 runs basically the whole length; 18-20ft x 15" or so wide...

My boat isn't here to measure, looks the same size as yours.

TexomaPowerboater 09-22-2008 12:37 PM

Those pad pictures make me want to throw up :throw::)

Velocity Vector 09-22-2008 08:10 PM

Better not throw up when I take you for a pad ride.

TexomaPowerboater 09-22-2008 10:06 PM

LOL, I'll be fine. My wife on the other hand..............she was traumatized after vyperfitness(41 apache) jumped a cruiser wake at 80+.

Velocity Vector 09-26-2008 10:32 PM

You rich guy's, How wide is the pad on the 39' & 41' ?

Sorry BILL, the pad on 41' is 18.5" wide and goes approx. 13' turns into a V to the front. The 41' does get up on the PAD like the 22',26',30' and 39'. Curts single 32' gets up and stays on the pad easily. I"d like to see his boat with 900-1000 hp. It would brake a lot of hearts. BOB.

Excess, once I get my boat dialed in, I will have to get someone to take a pic of the 41 from my boat at 90+mph to show it up on the pad!!!:ernaehrung004::drink:
