The bubble is thick, pretty sure it would take a pretty good whack with a hammer to break one open. The reasone I know this is because a wave knocked me on my but last summer while hauling the anchor in and the anchor put a small hole in it. its probably at least 1/8 of an inch of material on top of the air pocket. You just see black in the hole, like the resin is black.

I agree with Pat as to where your location is and yes there is a whole lot of helpfull people on this site . I might mention that if you are close to West Mich and want people with some real experience in fiberglass repair who have and still work at Skater let me know . I also would like to mention that if you are not in the area of West Mich and closer to Ohio Dave would be your man .

I bought a used Velocity and the hull is still under warranty and I didn't buy it from them. I found some minor gelcoat cracks in it, they told me to bring it down and they'll fix it at no charge. Sounds to me like BS what your saying.

it's not like they're little tiny soap bubbles, most of the spots are bigger than my palm, the smallest are the size of a quarter. They are in clusters. The fiberglass repair guy said he would have to completely strip it down to fix it correctly and that's why it would cost so much. I told him we could just paint the deck white and forget the stripes, but he said the paint was the cheap part.
