Sorry to hear about your issues. When shopping for insurance on the sonic, I looked at them and then looked away quickly. Cost was decent but the way I was treated by the agent I was dealing with was totally inappropriate. I am not going to name names but total BS. Glad I passed on them... good luck with getting paid...

Markel still very slow responding . Their local attorney said he would suggest they pay the claim . That was aporx 3 weeks ago , claim now 5 mounths old . Markel making little attempt to respond back to my attorney , Monday will be a week waiting for a response of our last correspondence . At what point does it come to treating your customer correctly and do the right thing . My broker was asked twice by me to check and see what they could . Both times I was told I would hear back from them , never did . I am glad to report that one of the suspects has a court date coming up in Jan yeah !!! Beware when it comes to insurance !!!!!!

News flash !!!! Markel started trying to work out a settlement with me . My adjuster and I sent several emails back and forth today . I am hoping to wrap things up when he gets back in the office on Thursday . Everyone remember that failure to lock your trailer may result in a 10% reduction in your settlement . If they agree to my latest proposal , this could finally be over soon . It would be good to finish on a nice note with them .

Maybe Markel has had most of the exposure with the thefts and is taking real hard looks at each incident.

The adjuster they sent out told me that my problem was common . I still think since the police made arrests in the first 30 days , taking 5 mounths seems like a long time to me . Remember I have no money problems , no boat loan , no criminal record , and no motive . Also had no boat for the entire season .

The big news here is Markel Insurance still hasn't tried to settle yet . Went so long waiting for them that , I missed a summer of boating . When I asked thier attorney at my 6 hour deposition a month ago when I would get a check ? The response was no time soon , remember at this point I was already 60 days into this . Now the police arrested two suspects around 45 days ago . The motors were found not complete when recovered , seems that Markel has taken it on themselves to pick them up without asking or telling me . I have had a bad time with them to the point of needing to hire an attorney , miss a summer of boating , put up with a horrible customer service claim nightmare , and remember there is no end in sight . I want the rest of you to know what to expect if you have a claim with Markel . For the record , I have no criminal background , no boat payments and no money problems . However I do have a claim that is going to be coming up on 120 days thanks to my friends at Markel . Can you tell I'm like in shock and awe of how they do business with someone who has been their customer for years . Insurance buyers beware !!!!! Oh yeah they also cancelled my policy ..........
WTF is it there for if not to replace your boat?
Then you get cancelled way to stand behind your customer markel. They should be embarassed
