Default Time to Plane in a 260

I have an 03 260 with a 496 mag and no trim tabs. With similar equipment how long should it take to get up on plane? I have 2 additional group 31 batteries (70 lbs each) which I am certain are slowing me down a bit. But I feel my boat is still taking way too long. Adding tabs would certainly help, but I think I still have some engine gremlins...........What do you guys with the 260 and even the 280 see in time to plane?

I am looking into tabs, but unsure as to size needed... I don't want to spend a ton of $$...

I was thinking about going with the eddie marine's, but i was in Fl d other day, and went by the factory, and Steve Stepp said that he's tried all of them, but he always ends up going back to the Kplanes..

My 260 (24') was slow to plane until i added the tabs, I used the large eddie marine tabs and haven't had a problem, going into my third season with them. It gets right up on plane now

I think I am going to try out the Lenco 18x14 race tabs. I like the idea of the electric actuator. Ease of install, and no hydraulic pumps to deal with. I have read good things about them.
