Velocity Fest - June 27th-29th 2014
 

Figured I'd start a new thread.

The wheels have been put into motion and I've been in contact with Great Oak Landing and they are willing to accomodate us once again for Velocity Fest.

Dates are June 27th-29th 2014. We will be bringing our boat up from Florida and plan on being in town that Friday (27th). Not sure if we'll run down Friday or first thing Saturday, but as time gets closer we'll nail down some more precise times. Maybe break it into a Friday run group and a Saturday run group.

If you've never been to Great Oaks, it's a great place to hang out, with a nice hillside pool & Tiki, along with Jellyfish Joels out on the point. Marina has full amenities, and they also have hotel rooms and even a 9 hole executive golf course.

Slip rates will be $1.50 per foot if you stay in the hotel, $2.25 if ya stay on board.
Standard Rooms are $149.00 per night (we may be able to get a little better once I get a better count)

We are planning on attending. Still some conflicts we need to work out but are planning on attending. Looks like fun.

What???? no cat. Yeah it's vfest but I say if your heart is with Velocity then bring your ride with what ever logo it has and all your stories. Sorry that's just my thought.

I am in for Saturday night at great oak 100%. Whether or not I need a slip is still up in the air. And Ray, I agree with Vicious, bring the Duck!

I agree! Just cuz it's V-fest doesn't mean other boats are not welcome. ;)

Looks like maybe 8-10 boats so far. I sent a message over to Kenny at Velocity the other day but haven't had a chance to talk with him yet. He didessgae back and say he'd help spread the word.

I just emailed Brad up at GO today. I didn't have any blocked off as of yet, but let me see what he comes back with. I'm thinking we can at least get 10 blocked off and add as we need.

Just got word back from Brad Wilson at Great Oak. He's got 15 rooms blocked off for us. If we need more I can add, but we'll need to know quick. 007Joe, if you were able to post up a FB event feel free to post up the link...If not, I can post one on the Velocity Group.

Not sure how they are blocked... Either my name (Jeff Ziemer), Velocity, or just ask for Brad! ;)

I was setting up the Facebook event today, but wanted to get permission from Velocity first, so waiting for a response on that. If it's cool to use their name and page, I'll get it done now...

I've been meaning to get by there to see the new factory, just haven't had a chance...it's not as convenient to my office as the old Sanford location. ;)

It looks like I will not be able to make it. I'm very disappointed!

Talked to Don aka Rump "Shaker" , he hopes to have his boat ready in time to be there . Don has been in touch with Joel , and will also try and bring him along for the get together . Don had some 509's built that are now ready , they are up at Tony's getting rigged and installed . I spoke with Rusty about coming down from NY , have to wait and see on that .

Hi Paul. The plan is to bring the 390 down from the Nauti-Goose. It's nice to have a spare Velocity as Steve indicated! I'll shoot you a PM as it's been too long!

Aright so Velocityfest is coming up real soon and I just picked up Tripps 30' outboard boat. The problem is I have a bunch of stuff to get done on both boat and trailer and I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get it all done by the end of the month. Oh and the F-250 I just picked up to haul it with may not be enough truck for me to get it there with! I will be coming anyway, just to see/meet everyone, but I may be boatless! Will keep you guys posted.....

Mine will be coming north behind an Eco-Boost F150, so I'm sure you'll be fine with that 250. ;)

It was doing real well, and than coming up over a bridge the truck started smoking for a bit. It dissipated quickly, but now I gotta get it checked. I'm still going to try if I can get the boat ready, and give it a good sea trial...

Does anyone have an agenda for the event? We live accross the Bay from GOL and may just come over each day. Would be great to just meet and hang with fellow Velocity owners as we have had several over the years but if there are any planned events, we don't want to miss them. Thanks
