You didn't tell me that... I may have to swing by there tonight. I have a friend going too. ;)

My first experience with Steve Stepp and Velocity was back in 1997 at the Dinner Key Boat Show in Coconut Grove, FL. I was undecided between a 22' Sea Ray Pachanga/454 Bravo or the Regal Velocity 230/454 Bravo. I ultimately took delivery of a 1988 Velocity 230 that was Teal, Charcoal and Black. It was my first performance boat and I spent every weekend boating all over Biscayne Bay and the upper keys in that Velocity. I also helped sell them briefly the following year at both Dinner Key and the Miami show. Steve was always outgoing and available to talk with customers. It's always hard to hear when a well known boat manufacturer takes a turn for the worse...maybe Thoroughbred will be ressurected!

I'm sorry, but I think this might be my fault. Every time I buy a boat, the brand goes to $hit. First it was Baja, then Sonic, and now this. I'm buying a Bayliner next. At least I'll do some good.

So you are the one causing the problem!

Scott has also left Velocity before the lights go out for good. Nothing doing in production. Looking like another historic company about to bite the dust.

So if that happens does it go back to Steve ? I have not heard of anyone buying a brand new Velocity at all this year. Would that be true ?

Believe they sold a couple of those 26' Fishing boats. No performance boats that I know of.

Ing, did you end up going by the factory? Sorry to hear about Scott too. I meet him a couple weeks back and seemed like a really nice guy.

Ya Scott is a standup good guy. I visited the factory while Scott was still there to discuss building a VR1 with a single 400R. Without Steve to set up a build like this I won't go near it. Steve and Kenny had all the institutional knowledge and with them gone good luck getting any accurate information if anyone is there to actually answer a phone. I've set my sites on other builders.
