I just have a piece of aluminum U channel about 6" long that's wide enough for the lift rod to fit in. drill holes in each end at least an 1" from the end and put a quick release pin in each end. The advantage of this over the Hardin device is that you can get the U channel to lock in the upright position which gives me more room to work.
