The new 290SC is a new hull. It is exactly the same as the new VR1 hull, except the top deck is taller and allows more cabin headroom and also has a taller cockpit area. The new 290SC is an excellent boat and runs extremely fast for a family sport cruiser. The one that was in the Maryland boat show is here on Lake Norman for testing. It ran approx 83-85 with fuel and 3 large people on board. This one has the 525 and ITS system and also has the Smartcraft. At 3900 rpm the computer showed 3.3 mpg. This particular boat was trick and was also in Sarosota for the PowerBoat Mag testing.
It can presently be seen at Carolina Performance in Charlotte for the next couple of days before it is delivered to its new owners, whoever they are.
