1993 Thoroughbred/Velocity. Super clean, extremely FAST!
Original owner, ready to sell, must go. For those of you who have attended the Velocity Rally's on the Chesapeake Bay know the transom well! Fastest 26' outboard ever assembled. EMail for details you won't be disappointed. |
Re: Needs to Go
Hey Bob....boat looks Awesome!
Best of Luck with the Sale.... Marty |
Re: Needs to Go
Thanks Marty, The boat has been a lot of fun over the years. It has also been reliable. Like to see someone else enjoy it as much. BOB POWELL

Re: Needs to Go
If you are looking for the cleanest and one of the fastest 26 Velocity look no further!! I know this boat from new, this boat is in like new condition and has been kept in a heated garage since day one, the boat has seen 105 MPH with a set of Mach props, anybody that knows this boat knows it will run mid to high 90's ALL DAY, the last Velocity run on the Chesapeake speaks for itself, how did those (BIG JOHNSONS) sound when they were going buy you?? And they went buy every boat in that run !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Needs to Go
I've seen this boat on 3 of the Velocity rally's and you won't find another one like this. It looks like a brand new boat.
Bob, Good luck with the sale. What size Velocity are you getting next? Links, I ran up front all day on the last Velocity run and never saw or heard the Big Johnsons go by me!!!!!!!!! Paul Archibald |
Re: Needs to Go
Ouch!
|
Re: Needs to Go
You must have been on a different Velocity Rally my freind!!! the leg from the Goose to Hart miller Island only had one boat there before Bob and he cut the corner and ran on the other side of pools Island and it wasn't YOU!!!
|
Re: Needs to Go
Wow, Paul Archibald, a blast from the past!! How you doing Paul? Long time no see. You gotta come out to some club events so we can see the big Velocity :D It'd be great to see you again.
Ted Ginnity |
Re: Needs to Go
Bob's boat is a wonderful 26' Thouroughbred and no doubt would have been a leader at Velocity Fest (with Hyper's very fast 30 Thoroughbred) given more favorable conditions. The real leader after ALL the boats got together at Fairlee and restarted - Joel Ross and his 41'! There were two 26's keeping pace however with the big boats for the run north - Paul was one of them.
|
Re: Needs to Go
Paul, What boat were you in? The only boat that beat us (I was on Bobs Boat) to Hart Miller out of both groups that left was a 26 I/O with Sid Gorman on board!! :D
:evilb: :evilb: This smiley best describes this boat......First off it's Red......it's evil fast......and it dances over the waves!! Drag Car acceleration!! And the sound is friggin' intimidating.......I say it sounds like a million pissed off killer bees. (no pun intended....as in the 28 Apache from Jersey w/2 Big Johnsons) Good Luck on the sale Bob.....somebody is going to get a sweet boat!! By the way.......what are you getting? Going after the fastest pontoon record? :D |
Re: Needs to Go
The only reason the Killer Bee boat was not up front from fairlee to the Inn was because he stayed back to make sure a freind was OK, that took about 15 min. You all know the boat is Bad so MAN UP!!
|
Re: Needs to Go
Lets drop the attitude. We are all part of the same family. Paul and Bob's boats are both awesome 26' Velocity's. And let's utilize the spelchek button "FRIENDS"
|
Re: Needs to Go
What Attitude!! Link is stating a fact...we stayed behind to help another Rally participant. I am not a Velocity owner and I had a great time. Great people and sweet machines. Steve Stepp once again a great asset to the Hi performance boating world.
Did I spell anything wrong? |
Re: Needs to Go
Lets not take this so personal. I never said Bob didn't have a bad boat, & as a matter of fact I am fond of the V8's and the killer bee sound, I owned a 22 velocity with on on the back for 7 years.
We don't need to make excuses of why we were or weren't up front, we all had a good time and beside it was a FUN run not a race. All I said is I didn't see or hear them go by me. The one 280 that ran up front all day and was the one you referred to as being the first to Hart & Miller (and you were correct that wasn't me) had a stock 496, It only goes to show given the water conditions we were dealing with a 280 can only run so fast, and that one did run well. I was just trying to stir the pot and it looks like I was successful! I noticed Bob never chimed in, He knows what he's got and it speaks for itself. R Addiction, I was in a 1995 260 or 280 whatever you want to call it with Purple & pink stripes. One of the few with FOR SALE on the side. Looking forward to next years run. |

R Addiction,
Have you ever anchored off Park Island? I have some couple of pic's of a 25' Active Thunder that I took last year. I almost bought a 25 out of Michigan. |

Re: Needs to Go
Ok how many of those Egg Beater boats are going to be coming south to the Velocity run on Lake Norman. :D You guys have some sweet looking boats up there. But there are a lot of us I/O Velocitys guys going to make 2 out of the 3 Velocity fun runs this year and I am probably going to bum a ride with one of the larger boats coming up your way. But I think you guys would enjoy our little run on lake Norman this year :D .
