I've bought plenty of stuff from Mike and will continue to do business with him. CME is a great company to deal with.

SO, Some have questions about CME's business practices.
Some have had good experience with an up-front and positive response. But, no-one has purchased, nor have had experience with their advertised engines. It's unfortunate. |
I bought a 30 pitch maximus prop from mike and he sent me a 32 pitch maximus that had been reworked. I tried to return it an he refused. Buyer Beware when dealing with Coastal Marine Export and Mike Wood. I can send anyone photos of what I ordered and all of the communication with Mike when he sent me a photo of the prop and told me he had that exact one in stock. He sent me a 32 pitch that is like a 27 or 28 not the 30 I ordered and he stated (in writing) that he had. I asked him for a refund but he said all sales are final. That would be fine with me if he sent me what I ordered but he sent me a reworked 32 and it is clearly stamped on the hub. Not a good company to do business with.

I have been in this business for 35 years and around performance boats for over 40 years, longer than many of you have been alive. Why don't you go to your local dealer and support them. We all discount parts, props, transoms, etc. If you want to come down and hang out at the clubhouse (our place of business) you have to pay dues. Many of you go to your local dealer and ask why does my motor do this or that and after we diagnose it you go online and by from the cheapest seller you can find. You borrow props and say thanks and go online without even asking if we can match a price. Online sales will end up destroying the local guys. Then who will you turn to on Sunday when you have a boat load of people and need a rocker arm or whatever. All I can say is I don't have any sympathy for what you receive from sellers online. Everyone is in business to make a living and pay their bills. Everyone, even the guys online selling parts at cost. That last sentence says it all.

Chris I will say this, you have a pretty cool clubhouse to hangout at.
