BUP, I have known all along my TAs probably did not have a warranty as soon as I saw the cut decals and looked closer at the shipping boxes. I knew I would not get any answers to my questions, but at least they are now on the web for anyone doing a search. Everyone likes a deal. But it’s only a deal if you know all the conditions. In my case, I found some well known sellers selling the TAs at approx same price, but clearly stated no warranty in the ads. When I saw the ad in OSOs classified for same price and with factory warranty, it was a no brainer. My assumption was a high volume seller, better price. I was expecting 2 brand new units in the same condition as I would have recieved if I had bought from my local Merc dealer. I did not notice the cut decals till after I had them installed. The decals are different than my previous boats, so it didn’t jump out at me. The crooked cut is what caught my eye. Then the rest is history. Had I known they were without warranty, I very well would still been a buyer. Thus my comments I’m not really too concerned about the units themselves. They are still brand new Mercs. Just drop the warranty claim and all is good. No hidden surprises. Not really trying to discredit anyone, just be upfront, open and honest |
I hear you ^^^ yes your serial numbers were not transparent so I have to ask other members is nt that discrediting the person that sold the products with removed serial numbers or is the finger pointing still on me for being the discreditor ??? Again I am posting info that needs to be known and many questions needing answers without being transparent in the marine world including info I need to know. Like I said my job is to keep boaters boating without issues. Who does nt want that ?
And for ALLDodge receiving a cut wired trim sensor that is ok for who's standards and price ? Most likely it will fail down the road because of the splicing needed to be done. Water can easily wick itself into the splice . Yeah I hear everyone Hmmm Im the bad guy -- another Tony Montana right here. Did nt Clinton use that word transparent alot to skate around the questions in hand ? Still waiting for the warranty shipping address ????????????? |

Bup,
I get it about the no S/N numbers, and you are not the only Merc dealer that can not meet CME prices. I know of several, but I also know that CME sells and ships a lot of parts here and overseas. How could Mercury not know about this? The parts are coming from somewhere and they do appear to be new. I just find it strange that mercury wouldn't know,,,,, how much of their stuff is sold that doesn't ever get registered? I have no dog in this fight just trying to figure it out as well. Merc sells a product to dealer that offers with warranty. Product has a failure within that time. Merc now has to pay for replacement and labor. Money out of their pocket Merc sells product to a seller that can’t offer a warranty. No replacement, no labor to cover. No money out of Mercs pocket. Plus now Merc gets to sell more product to repair. Money in their pocket. Merc knows. Lol |
We greatly appreciate all the posts on this thread and for the free advertisement :-).
