How does someone become a Merc dealer?? Do you have to sell a line of boats?

Oh yeh I'm subscribing to this. Been a while for some heat. lol.

One of their websites Verado Parts Source | Always Lower Than Retail does say this:

there is no serial numbers on the parts bought from you so no Merc dealers will take in nor can do anything with it cause its not even regs with merc, he called Merc and asked about this and like I said they have zero info of you being with any part of Merc and ZERO of being a dealer of any sort --- zero info about CME thru Merc period.

The parts have to come off the boat so what now - I told him to bring the whole boat to you at the address in Boynton Beach florida or someone has to pull the parts off and send them to you - If I pull them ( the parts ) where do I send this stuff to - can you provide the address here please. The dude is eating our lunch over this ?

Called Merc this mourning sorry no warranty period especially without serial numbers that should be on the products that Merc produces. And did you know missing serial numbers for OEM manu products that are missing can be against law. WOW I was informed by Merc on that one.

So now with parts installed in the boat - Merc is not covering a dime for any pf this nor paying labor rate of any sort. Again they have no idea who CME is. If no one believes this you can call Merc yourself and ask.. --- Merc does not warranty any CME sold products period per their words because one he is not an oem dealer of theirs nor never was.. And when calling Merc ask about if serial numbers missing on New drives - new transom assemblies and new engines how that will work out for you. again call Merc.

Here is the deal == One Merc has no idea with missing serial numbers if the parts are new and when the bought date was for warranty to start and end because they were not reg under the serial number and person info whom bought the stuff plus you need the serial numbers for warranty regardless. And now I found out that missing serial numbers can be against law.

CME how does your warranty pay the service tech his warranty labor bill - this boat needs interior removed - drive pulled - engine pulled and more - then all reinstalled, Can you supply written copies and or online written copies of your special CME warranty ? Again Merc is not covering any of it especially without serial numbers.

Do have an RGA to send all the parts back so the customer is not on his dime - since you have your special warranty and all parts need to be sent back to you only ?

Still need an address where to ship parts to. And the answer about the RGA . Address please thank you . How transparent is the address to ship parts back ?

These are questions that need to be answered and known by all including servicing techs across country since these parts all over the map and being sold on facebook. I hope this will help all boaters to get their boat back on the water asap with any warranty needed but really need an address and the cme warranty policies so all of this can move forward and help educate all boaters including myself here. Thank you when the provided answers are posted to the many questions .

Bup,

I get it about the no S/N numbers, and you are not the only Merc dealer that can not meet CME prices. I know of several, but I also know that CME sells and ships a lot of parts here and overseas.

How could Mercury not know about this? The parts are coming from somewhere and they do appear to be new. I just find it strange that mercury wouldn't know,,,,, how much of their stuff is sold that doesn't ever get registered?
I have no dog in this fight just trying to figure it out as well.

So how does CME get Mercury Marine parts to sell without serial numbers on them ? Or is CME removing those serial numbers prior to sale ? or is CME selling them with serial numbers but no warranty ?

Since you asked --- Some Florida large dealers know about this out the back door selling and have complained about it -- why do think the serial numbers are missing NOT traceable and not traceable whom is selling it --- call some of the large florida dealers as well - the ones that know about the practices of the company in hand.. They know whats going on and have complained about it nothing gets done. Maybe if all possible one or 2 whom are this board will say something as well large florida dealers..

Sorry man you ask you are going to get answers not transparent ones

OK you guys tell me why serial numbers should be missing and why they are HOW IS THAT so if you bought a boat and the hull HIN number was missing this is not odd to you ------ serial numbers are traceable by the manus - why do you think they are removed ?? Have nt you guys watched Miami Vice ? haha

Is it not odd that shipping warranty address has not been posted yet ? SO am i the only thats find this a an issue ??? How about warranty policies posted anywhere ? Again call Merc I will provide the phone number and ask away about the company in hand

The fact of the matter we have a boat owner that has huge warranty issues here and we can not get any info is that not odd to any of U . Please do not kill the messenger here. I help many boat owners out hourly - 7 days per week and trying to get to the bottom of this.
