props in or out, which is best?

have an 2003 31sxt and we always turned the props in. never tried to turn em out. running 34pitch 5 blade hydromotives. seems to work well. boat is very stable over 100mph.

What kind of motors you running to spin the 34s and have you calculated prop slip Boozer?

hello, the motors are 500hp efi's with procharger m1's and the larger intercoolers. 8lb's of boost at 5800 rpm. 2" shortie xr drives. 1.35 gears. i have calculated prop slip but it was so long ago i dont remember what it was. with the boat setup like i said earlier in the post we have gone 123mph on gps speedo. we lowered the drives 1.5" this last winter but the speedo hasnt been working to know speed now. once we get the speedo going again wil let you know. we lowered the drives to help get on plane better and to eleminate some porpusing when it starts to pack air. later boozer

Based on the numbers you have posted your slip numbers are @ 11% using 34" props..very nice
