BRS,
I must agree with the others...The stripes would not work to your advantage. I would try to have it matched as best possible.
Anyway dont Fountains sit real low towards the back when in the water? And when your blowing by, the last thing they'll see would be an imperfection on the paint ...hehehehehe

No stripes! I hope I can relate my thoughts. You have flames, take loose bits of flames, about 4 or 5 and carrie them to the transom. Hope this makes sense.

if you REALLY must do something, the only thing i think that would work is to do a flame in the rear...meaning, you would paint the aft portion of the boat to create red flames, thus making it three sections - the front yellow with flames, the center, red with flames and the rear, whatever color you choose... problem is, the red is a "heavy" color and most any color other than black will look too "light"...so, leave it alone, get a decent painter who "promises" you a good job and good luck!

On the last third of the boat you can start a new set of flames. Use the red and have the last third of the boat as a third color. The stripes do not work. A checker red and black flag theme could work.
