I'd change that oil before I did anything else, then check if thermostats are fitted. 140 should be enough to boil any water out of the oil, so I'd be very concerned about it's condition.

Lucky guy, mine dumps all the fluid into the bilge in a matter of minutes ! I'm pretty sure it's the cooler but in my botched up installation it's a nightmare to get too.
