Cosmic,

I test drove that 28 with the HO, I was hitting 65 GPS without being wideopen, dealer wouldn't let me open it up. Very fast for an HO.

I believe APMBoats has a 28 with a 525 for sale also. A few of the pictures are wrong but I think it is still for sale, this is the boat on the Active Thunder website.

Funny, the boats from post 2 & 3 have the same paint job and are both in MD? or is the pic of the boat in post 3 wrong, like derek said.

derekdeben 06-27-2006 02:48 PM

Re: need 25 or 28 AT

Stormrider,

They actually do have very similar paint jobs. If you go the the Active Thunder website and click new boats and the 28 you will see the one with the 525. The HO has a very similar paint job with slight variations. It looks like they mixed up the photos when posting for the 525. In Tony's post they have the 525 as being in Pompano, I think there was a seperate thread saying it is at Active Thunder factory for sale. Frank Marchione is the new sales manager for AT and was part of APM at one time (or still is) and sold both of the boats mentioned above, so he will have the best info on the 2 boats. I think his number is listed on the Website.

Considering it has a 500HP, and everything that comes on a 500HP boat, that's cheap.

Tested it on friday, gave him a deposit....................
hopefully drag it home next weekend if all goes well.

has a lein on the title still, any suggestions on payment and waiting for the lein release??

That boat was sweet, ran like a champ, cut throuhg the 3-4ft swells like a knife through butter...needs a few minor things,
couple minor things, oil pressure gauge not wking, water pressure gauge not wking, could use some prop work, 4 blade stainless a little banged up, but still ran good hovered around 68-70 but nongps speedo...

was sold on it the moment I grabbed the wheel ...

Saw a sweet thunder in henderson yest... said it was a 04 37
his name was Greg or Craig I think, thought I was gonna be the only in henderson with one :D

Re: need 25 or 28 AT

great to hear! yes the 37 belongs to greg. he is all over the place with that boat.you can get a certified ck made out to his bank for his payoff bal. and another one for him for the bal. don't give him his till you have a lean release. so glad to hear you like it I knew you would,it will be killer out on the ;ake when it kicks up. good luck and keep us posted. the guages are probly gafrig and can be replaced easily or it could be senders.

Think all the gauges we gafrig, seemed like bad senders, what should that boat have for a prop? came w 3 blade mirage I think, he put a 4 blade on it that was already beat up...

tyring to attach pics..........

looks good, the prop? I'm not really sure. someone will ck in and tell ya. I have no experance with the 25. boat looks real nice though. you could PM pat hes active thunder and ask him he will probly remember the boat and what it should have had on it.

He gave me an article from hotboat mag from 96 on the 25

this boat sounds just like the test boat,502efi 385hp

boat has gil exhaust, mds box, reprogrammed ecm, says its got about 415HP now

mag says the boat was propped w 23" mirage 3 blade

seemed like it handle the 4 blade nicely but first time w/that much hp at the stick :D

cosmic12 07-09-2006 09:39 PM

Re: need 25 or 28 AT

4 blade should give you more stern lift. you need to talk to R-addction he's got a 25 and has been playing with it for a few years, I think he has a 502 also. Him or Gordo who used to race a 25 and did quite well with it.

Gordo 07-10-2006 01:22 PM

Re: need 25 or 28 AT

If you're running a 502efi with around 415hp, then I would suggest a 24p Bravo 4 blade, or possibly a 26p Bravo 4blade if you plan to have it lab finished. Your best top speed and overall performance will probably be with the Bravo-4 blade, BUT you might want to try a 22p or 24p Hydromotive Q-IV 4blade if you spend a lot of time in really rough or sloppy waters. .
Also, "IF" it has external hydraulic steering, then you might gain 2-3 mph with an IMCO 2" shortie lower.
Just athought.

cosmic12 07-10-2006 02:21 PM

Re: need 25 or 28 AT

thanks Godo I knew you would be the man. the 25 he is buying is the one in the oics just above. Now what do you think about mine? prop? speed.

Thanks for the info Gordo, wont have alot of cash to play until I sell my other boat......probably keep it the way it is this season......does not have ext hyd steering, think that will be the first thing on my wish list

if all goes well should have it home next weekend :D :D

Time for some trust, the first cert check going out tommorow

I may be wrong but the 502 efi motor was 415 HP from the factory, so if it has exhaust and other stuff it may have alittle more HP than you you think. I have been thinking about this and what you posted and thought something was wrong there. just my 2cts
