Pat build a 39 & they will come

I saw that you mentioned in another post that the 37 demand is 8 to 1 of the 33. That is supportive of the data because someone will pony up for a 37 @ 300K+ 8 times more often than someone who will pony up for a 33 @ 250K+. The 43 should have the same demand as the 37 if not more one you get a few out on the poker runs and the Miami boat Show.
You are right about something, I am a “value” buyer and that doesn’t mean cheap. That means my favorite equation is marginal cost vs. marginal benefit. I don’t see 200K in value for a 39 Top Gun versus a 37 Active Thunder.

The information I have seen is for new purchase 2007. The experts say that boat cost, fuel, insurance and an uncertain economy is all but killed the middle class buyer. Middle class buyers support the sub 38 market and the used market. Both markets are in the sh*ter.
The those who are in the upper income or high netwoth class dont care about boat cost, fuel cost, insurance, or resale. The are recession proof. That is the mainstream now and they are buying bigger boats than ever before.

If I had to build one for myself, I would build the 33 with 496 HOs, get you to dial in my props and spank you offshore!

Oh yeah, and then give Diane the money I saved to pizz away on something stupid for the house.

I some what agree. But honestly I haven't sold a 32 since 2002 and the economy was not an issue. Everything was a 37. Just the trend for our boats.

It seems it is easier to downsize a bigger boat than upsize a smaller one. Sunsation is building a 36-38 next. The 43 was built off the 38 Powerplay hull, adding a swim platform and staggering the power. The cabin/ cockpit are within an inch of a 38 PP. Saw Joe last weekend at the Palm Beach show and he told me after 11 built 43's he has not made one change to the bottom. All boats so far have been 700's (John's #1 hull was 600's) and they are currently building a 1075 boat now for a current F4 owner.

Interesting thing is I have rafted up several times to a couple 38 TG's and my boat actually looked longer. I even had more than one person say the same thing. A quick measurement to the end of the transom and swim platform, prior to ordering my winter cover, proved its just a 37' boat.

Oh well, I pay for one less foot per month of dry storage.

I wish someone would do that. Pat if I could I would be there in a heartbeat to build that boat it would be the perfect alround boat. Why has nobody wanted one?

I believe a local guy around here has his mind set on building a 33 with 496's.
