Rough times have happen to all of us at one time or another, so lets all just rally behind and give our support when needed.

rlj676 02-01-2009 08:32 AM

What a beautiful boat and it is sad for someone to have to part with it like that. I saw it listed on there yesterday too.

The positive side though, is somebody is going to get an awesome boat at a great price.

Jupiter Sunsation 02-01-2009 09:13 AM

Rich was advertising the trailer for that boat back in Dec. so for any buyers he may have the aluminum Myco to go with it.

That boat is my all time favorite AT......could be a steal for someone with some cash to pull the trigger.....

45sonic 02-01-2009 10:10 AM

Very sad situation indeed. Support of the people we know involved as James said is imperative

Griff 02-01-2009 11:47 AM

One of my favorite AT's as well. If I remember right, the power was freshened a short time ago.
It really sucks when you see the crappy economy affecting people this way.

Sydwayz 02-01-2009 11:58 AM

Yes, the owner got bit pretty bad by the real estate market, unfortunately. This was a voluntary & peaceful turn in to the bank, sans all the bad press about a "repo." As a matter of fact, the owner took it in himself.

Who has the details on this boat? E-mail me @

Never had 700's.

It did have whipples on the 525's, but they have since been removed.

I'm not sure of the exact hours as it went through changes, but the with whipples he also included drive changes to B-max....and the whipples were only on one short season if I remember correctly.

I don't know if the motors were gone through at any time during changes but seem to remember them being re-freshed at some point. Hopefully someone with more (accurate) info than I have will post up soon.

They were both rebuilt.

15 hours on Strb, 180 on Port.

It's a shame to see this. Honestly it's #3 I know of in the past few months with issues. People are doing their very best but the economy for many isn't turning around fast enough.

Can someone give more info on this boat? looks as to have a slight waterline but I know thats no big deal, not worried about it and of course pics can always make a boat look better. Salt water boat or all fresh water? Also I take it the post above Active Thunder is the owner (Pat) of the company. If so is that the e-mail posted above to e-mail you direct. Thanks John

To my knowledge, boat spent most of its time on Smith Mountain Lake and Lake Anna (freash water). Pictures do not give the boat justice, it looks very cool.

If I had the funds, I'd be jumping all over this boat.

The whipples were only on for a season or two if I remember correctly. I think he had issues with them and decided to go back to stock 525's and thats when the one engine was rebuilt not that long ago.

laszlo01 02-02-2009 08:17 AM

I remember that boat was for sale on here last year for like $185,000 is this the one that had the paint delamination problems ? as well as the motor issues with the blowers ? Otherwise nice looking boat, just wish i could sell mine.

Paint was redone at Active Thunder.

Sydwayz 02-02-2009 09:08 AM

90% freshwater at one of the cleanest lakes in United States, with a few salt water trips over the years.

The paint did have some issues, but NOT from the factory. The owner wanted to jazz up the paint a bit more with some more fades, lightning, etc. It looked great, except the guy who painted it the 2nd time had no idea what he was doing painting a boat. He was a car guy. The clearcoat just flaked off eventually. Then, the owner took the boat to Active Thunder, and Pat redid the entire hull and it turned out even better than the first time. The deck still has a few clearcoat issues. (The owner did have a Chevy 2500 HD painted to match but it has been sold.)

I have not seen the boat in about 9 months; so I advise seeing it for yourself before you make any decisions.

Spoke with Rich this morning before I saw this, I have two guys in my office that are looking for Property at Smith Mountain Lake, it sounds as like they may go down this weekend to look at the property he has.... Hopefully something works out for him and his family, this economy has it dirty hands around almost everybody.... Beautiful AT!!!

The Whipples scare me. If the owner did not like them I am wondering what the 525's thought !!!!!!!

Looks like a good buy, but if purchasing should be prepared to spend some money on engines and drives.

laszlo01 02-07-2009 07:27 AM

I have a deposit on it she is sold.

laszlo01 02-07-2009 07:35 AM

I will for sure I am flying down there on tuesday to make all the arrangements on her and it is going straight to my boat mechanic Kustom Marine to get a good going over, very anxious to meet you all and hopefully it is still in good condition, gonna move her to inside storage down there as fast as possible to get it out of the elements.

laszlo01 02-07-2009 07:37 AM

Sent you PM would love to see the pics.

Macklin 02-07-2009 07:43 AM

Congrats Laslo! Did you sell your PQ?

laszlo01 02-07-2009 07:45 AM

I wish, looks like two boats for the season, just could not pass up the deal on the boat, I have been running around all week since I seen it to secure everything on it, finally finalized everything on it yesterday. I figured with the deal i got i dont mind sitting on mine for a while and letting it go wholesale.

laszlo01 02-07-2009 07:49 AM

Got it awesome pics, thank you now I really cant wait to see it in person.

excursion 02-07-2009 07:55 AM

I know where there is a trailer forsale , let me know if interested.

laszlo01 02-07-2009 08:05 AM

Thank you, I have one lined up but if it falls through I will let you know for sure.

Macklin 02-07-2009 08:12 AM

Brian, sorry I have not gotten back to you about the trailer. I've been in a design charette the last two weeks working till midnight most nights. Unfortunately I can't swing it right now....especially considering I would have to buy a truck to pull it with. Not happenin'.
