Mine was broken when I bought the boat. My brother's was broken on his Fountain when he bought his as well...He just spent $200 I think for the new antenna and/or battery. I just bought a handheld GPS unit that I mounted to the dash. It gives me speeds/top speed recall and directions.

Mines dead also. What a crap setup.I couldn't get the
proper battery so I tried soldering in a regular 3v wafer
battery. I still didn't work. I will get the proper battery
and install it next weekend.

Pat, we need some help. I have not chased mine down yet, but I told Scott/yzbert where you told me to find it, and he's having trouble getting in that way.

Mine is located in the tall closet/TV-compartment just forward of the head. It's all the way in the back of the compartment.

The later model boats have them up in the gunwale forward of the shifter/throttle controls.

They are wired into the dash very intricately. You can cut all of the zip ties and pull the whole puck and cable out for repair.

OR

You can cut the cable to the puck leaving at least 2 feet of pigtail hanging off the puck. Once you have the battery replaced, you can splice the three leads back together. They are about the same as telephone wire.

I just replaced my antenna. Livorsi said it wasn't the battery but a short in the wireing so $250.00 later it works perfect. Alot of tie straps to cut and replace.
