I second that, if your at 15.5'' yes a 2'' shortie will help. its what got my 24ol into the 80s, I had a 15.5 also. my boat few level in the rough. my saber had the same thing. the old owner put a 2'' on and pick up 3 mph. I set mine at 17.5'' with the new konrad and it gets on plane with ease. also put full hyd steering on, if you don't have it. good luck.

I will start by agreeing with you in that 80 on the water is fast, and a speed that should be respected- in any boat!

However, These days there are everything from pontoon boats to jet skis that are capable of running over 80.
This is not your grandfathers pastime anymore.
When offshore racing was in its prime, one of the largest, and arguably the most competitive classes was Factory-1. Over 20 boats, all 24' to 29' in length, and most of us running well into the 80mph range. There were racing incidents, just as there are in any motorsport. However the 25 Active Thunders have all done very well on the race course, whether it be Lake of the Ozarks, Lake Erie or Key West. There have been a number of 25 Active Thunders that have been very successful on the race course.
I've done very well in my 25 Active Thunder, and would be more than happy to take you for a ride if you'd like.
I'll try to keep it below 70 for you.

Well put, feel very confident in my 25...as with any boat there are risks...but with experience and seat time you learn the limitations of yourself and the hull...

I love my 25 AT........have I said this before? Not sure, but IMO I think i have.
