They also turn the 565 up 200 rpm over the 525. It should be a great package. But you you really can't compare it to a quad cam twin turbo 1100/1350,To totally different beasts $$$$. The electronic shifting and sync should be very nice. Doug

Has anyone put 6's on the back of a 37? I don't think the XR's or BMAX's will handle 1350 a side........

Oh yeah... no comparison. The quad cam is a veey cutting edge package. From some internal pics and stuff they utilize Latest race technology. Thats why it surprises me they wouldnt have made some more improvements the the n/a big block.
probably because it would cut into their supercharged engine sales.. Even N/A a quad cam big cube engine would make 650-700hp easily.. |

Because all they really did was make the engine bigger for more power. 580-600 is very easy to obtain reliably out of 502 cubic inches. A few cylinder head and manifold changes and a 525 makes 600 on 87 octane. I did it. On 240 hour short blocks. With that said im sure the electronic drive by wire and shifting is going to be awesome. Sync will be nice. Hope the throttle response is as good as a 525. Let us know.
Say what you will, but I still believe that there are smarter guys at merc than some give credit too. |
