Enjoyour CC, maybe pat will build one someday to go with the offshore V and the performance cruiser
They both owned 34 Powerquests. So have two other of Macklin (and my) good friends in the Mid-Atlantic. They all say the same thing about the boats. The deadrise, keel design, and flat wide lifting strakes designed to get the hull out out of the water also provide for a quite jarring ride in the rough. It's got nothing to do with length in this particular instance.

It was nothing against AT boats, just no need to be cutting down other brands with BS claims to make them look bad... I owned a 29 PQ and had no problems whatsoever in 3-4' waves as long as I wasn't driving like a moron... They just must be "fragile" I suppose

I wouldn't mind owning an AT, improvements I would like to see would be deck design and cabin entry design (i found the 33 cabin entry to be a little short for me and I think it was due to the top not being recessed a little). Otherwise a very nice boat... I liked the side by side seating with drop in bolster, it worked out great for the poker run

Just not in the same league as AT. But then again the 340 really only has 30' of hull in the water after you deduct the 3' platform and 1' notch in the transom.

it could be possiable that the people you speak of need to drive a larger boat because they are unable 2 operate a smaller boat safely

Did I miss something ? Not sure what your issue is... Both Mackilin and I both owned PQ Vypers and have the same opinion. I truly enjoy the PQ brand and even had a brand new 91 Laser built back in the day and loved it. Also running a cruise speed of 55 mph in lake erie swells running the trofs was exactly what we have done. Ask my buddy P4-33 who was on board, sorry but the wave height bouie report at avon point verified 10-12 foot seas that day. It was not fun and if it wasnt for being able to run in the troffs it would have been a different story for sure. Oh yeah you dont know that because I did not see you out there running with us that day now did I ? Oh yeah almost forgot we just ran back in the open ocean swells from KW with sommer thunder (And Pat passed the Skater. LOL) and guess what yup you guessed it right we where running 55 mph in some realy snotty **** but you where not there then either now where you.

Oh Yeah dont try either of those with a PQ Vyper as its not safe for your health.... LOL

Sorry if I hurt your feelings PQ boys.

Thanks Pat. As usual, you nailed it. Except I have not decided what I want next. I can say we miss the AT.
Macklin, You know how an AT handles. I like center consoles too but to me they have some real drawbacks... Everyone except the driver is out in the wind hanging on and there is no way to get protected from wind and rain. Not much large storage. With that said I see the conveniences of a boat you can wash out and the ease of maintenance of those eggbeaters. The 33 outboard has to be the best of all worlds. except i would put three of them on the back. The 33 hull will handle pretty much anything the 37 will. It would be cool to see someone build another one.

When ordering a boat, what's the upcharge to go from 525s to 600s or 700/NXTs?

I would think it's a lot more than that. If i remember correctly the 700 NXT package was an $80,000 upgrade.

Just repeating what I was told by a guy that had just bought a new boat with a 600sci in it... 96% sure I'm recalling correctly although I was a few beers into my day...
