Pat,
Exactly the reasons when I am able(financially) to move up I will be looking at AT. Even though I have never ridden in one, from what everyone that owns one say's I will not be disappointed, I love the looks, and you are here to explain the reason things are the way they are. So see ya in a few years(or tomorrow if I win the powerball tonight).:lolhit: |

I think the 32 beam is 8'4 like most AT's.
I can't give you a comparison between a 28 AT and 28 Pantera, but my 32 AT rides WAY better than my 28 Pantera did in rough water. Both very solid boats, but the AT is so much more comfortable in rough water and I can easily run 15mph faster through 2-4's. Also can be power related, in mine to run 70 it is LOOSE, trimmed way out. A more powerful twin can get there with a more conservative trim which of course makes it more secure in the rough. |
[QUOTE=rlj676;3823064]Was your Pantera a single or twins? That is definitely similar sounding to the difference between my boat and Jay's 33 (32.5 ).
32'7" last time I plum bobbed it. 32'5" if ya don't count the rubrail. :lolhit: |

Who was driving? Sure as fuk doesn't run 70 when YOU drive it. Your girl said you get scared around 2800rpm. :eekdrop::thankyouthankyou:
a- she'd never know what rpm's are b- my f'n tach basically never works.:lolhit: I sound so fast I don't need to go over 60:bunnydance:. In seriousness I hit 70 trimmed way out w/ light load. |

32AT and 33PP came from the same roots, way back when; but Pat had modified the strakes several times over the years which contributes to different ride charactieristics. I think we can agree to disagree which one rides better. AT and PP were very much so friendly compeitors when the original PP was in play.
The 33AT is a 9/10s scale design of the 37AT; pretty much literally. The 33AT and the 37AT share the EXACT same cockpit dimensions; done on purpose. The 32AT and 33AT really do not compare. COMPLETELY different boats. It's also difficult to compare a 37AT 'Offshore' (straightbottom) with a 37AT 'Excess' as layups, materials, weights/densities and other attriutes have evolved in the same timeframes. That said, on paper; 13-15% better speed efficiency step over straight. But we play with the step on occasion as well. :D I've posted before on the DDC hull, and why it rides different than a straight bottom, AND why it's different and better (and in many folks' opinion) than other step bottom hulls. DDC has the word "duo" in it. Hint: It's two hulls at the same time. Bones, you have my curiousity piqued. What attribute would you take from a 30 Outlaw and put on an AT? The abundant engine room access? :drink: These aren't knocks..just stuff that helped make the boating experience easier. I wouldn't trade the speed and rough water capability but would like my cake and eat it too. |
Allright, what's up with all the members that have the red 37 "tiger stripes" boat in their avatar? There's Brian that used to own the boat, there's Pat, who drives it like he owns it :party-smiley-004:, and then there's Mike, who just pays for it! Kind of reminds me when everyone had the Farrah Fawcett poster on their walls. Maybe if Pat would build a couple more, everyone wouldn't have to fight over the same one!:lolhit:

My 32 AT will run about 73-74mph. It probably gets a little looser than my Pantera did trying to get the last couple mph out of it. |
